The Motto Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) of the Ashanti Region says
they are using three months for intensive education on the new road
regulation that banned the use of hand-held communication device while driving
to the drivers before they begin to implement the legislative instrument. Speaking on
Daybreak Kapital, Chief Superintendent Hloidzi Dodzi said after the three
months, the Motto Traffic and Transport Unit in the region is going to enforce the law strictly and will not tolerate any
officer of the unit who decide to bargain with offenders of the law for
exchange of money so that the culprit can escape facing the law. He further
observed that drivers should make a conscious effort to respect the law and see
police officers on duty as professionals who are there to enforce the law so as
to bring sanity on our roads and reduce the spate of road accident in the
country.
