VICE PRESIDENT CUT SOD FOR THE COMMENCEMENT OF AFFORESTATION PROJECT IN VEA


His Excellency The vice president John Dramani Mahama has cut sod for the commencement of afforestation project in Vea, a town in the Bongo District of the Upper East Region. The project which is under the Sahara Accelerated Development authority initiated by the current government is expected to employ the local residents of the area especially the youth and engage them in the agriculture sector in order to bridge the gap between the North and the South in terms of development and job creation. Some of the dignitaries who attended the launch include the Northern Regional Minister Moses Magbenba, The Chief Executive Officer of SADA Alhaji Gilbert Iddi, the board chairman of SADA Mr.Alhasan Andani, The minister for Agriculture Honorable Akwasi Ahoi and the Upper East Regional minister Mark Woyongo. The vice president charged the youth of the area to take advantage of the project and get involved in the agriculture sector in order to bring development in the region and further assured the people of government commitment to the BETTER GHANA AGENDA
