POLICE BLAME COMMUNITY LEADERS

The asewase police say calm has been restored at Aboabo after one person was gunned down by the police in the area last Saturday. Speaking to Kapital news, DSP Nana Kumi-the asewase police commander says the police have intensified their patrol operation in the area to avert such similar incident among the youth. It must be recalled that on the 7th of July 2012,the youth of Aboabo clashed with the youth of Sepe and when the police arrived to calm the situation, some of the youth engaged the police in a shoot-out resulting in the death one person identified as Asante. According to DSP Kumi, those who were arrested during the clashes were put before court yesterday and remanded in police custody for one week while the body of the dead person has been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. He however blamed the community leaders for doing little in solving the problem and caution the youth of the area to desist from gang violence since the police will not compromise anything with the security matters in the metropolis.
