POLITICS IN THE NDC

The flagbearership  position of the ruling National Democratic Congress will be declared as special vacancy, if the National Executive Committee of the ruling party  is unable to patch-up the party’s constitutional mandate of replacing a vacant position of a flag bearer in case of any eventuality today. NEC will today hold a crunch meeting to deliberate on the vacant position of an elected flag bearer. Though there are no provisions or clauses in the constitution of the ruling party which deals with the replacement of an elected bearer, but article 50 of the party’s constitution gives powers to the National Executive Committee to make rules and take decisions to govern any situation that has not been expected and anticipated for in the constitution.  Johnson Asiedu Nketia is the general secretary of the bereaved National Democratic Congress. He however debunked media assertion making waves in some media houses that the NDC constitution replaces the runner-up of the results of the congress.
