DEFECTION IN THE NDC TO NDP

About one hundred and fifty members of the ruling National Democratic Congress in the Eastern Region have defected to the New Democratic Party. Speaking in an interview with Kapital News, New Juaben South Constituency Chairman of the NDC, Mr. Kingsley Paul Boakye Agyepong mentioned that the leadership of the NDC in the region has failed to address certain pertinent issues that are bedeviling the party. He cited corruption under the National Youth Employment Programme, sheer neglect and that had lodged a formal compliant to both the Branch and Regional executives of the NDC all to no avail. Mr. Boakye Agyepong popularly called King Paul hinted that those who have defected including himself decided not vote for either the NDC or NPP thus their choice of the NDP. Meanwhile Mr. Paul Boakye Agyepong told Kapital News that there will be turning back to the NDC even if their grievances are met. He revealed that the group will hold a meeting on Monday July 16 to officially announce their defection.
