NAGERIA PLEDGES TO SUPPORT GHANA'S NEW PRESIDENT


The Nigerian government is promising to assist President John Dramani Mahama in every way to make his Presidency a success. Speaking at the Castle today, the Nigerian Vice President, Namadi Sambo who led a government delegation to commiserate with President Mahama, said, Africa has lost a true son who pushed for democracy in Africa. He described the Late President Mills as a great African leader and a true statesman, who impacted not only Ghana, but Africa as a whole. Namadi Sambo also expressed his appreciation to the government of Ghana for the smooth transition which took place immediately after the death of President Mills. He thus assured President Mahama of the continuous support of Nigeria towards the development of the ECOWAS sub region. President John Mahama on his part pledged his government’s commitment to maintaining its relations with Nigeria. President Mahama also pledged that he will ensure the continuity of the bilateral relations and agreements which exist between Ghana and other countries in the ECOWAS sub region adding that “all projects that we are working on will continue to move forward even with greater zeal.”
