The leader of the Dissolved Democratic Freedom Party
and the Former Chairman of the ruling National democratic Congress, Dr. Obed
Asamoah has disclose that their defection from the NDC party was not that he
has bad blood with President Mills but issues within the party that remains
unsolved. According to Dr. Asamoah, he believes in internal democracy in the
various political parties in the country which the NDC party by then did not
subscribed to. The NDC Former Chairman however says the way and manner the
party endorsed President Mills as the fore runner of the party was undemocratic
and that resulted in the defection. Dr. Yao Asamoah indicated that from the outpouring of grief the people are seeing, it is
obvious that the president is loved by many. Dr. Asamoah however thinks
Ghanaians should emulate his humility and his desire for peace adding he did
not believe in the idea of insults but rather can discuss issues without
insults However, Dr. Obed Yao Asamoah has express satisfaction that he was able
to iron out issues with President Mills before the sudden demise. He hopes his
death will not be in vain; but will keep ghanaian politics decent and tasked
